We are very proud to offer the opportunity for our Veteran friendly community to strongly provide Veterans and Veterans Families Outstanding Outdoor Experiences that Feel Like Home through charitable support of our Mission.
THE JOURNEY BEGINS
After returning from a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan three of our founding board members transitioned back to the life we defended and too many of our brothers and sisters in arms paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserve. While it is a challenge to start a peaceful life again, any obstacle was overcome by our continued brotherhood, honoring those we lost and their families and the Outstanding Outdoor Experiences that we shared as Veterans with our Veteran Families which always Feel Like Home. In March of 2024, we decided affirmatively to make every effort to provide these experiences to other Veterans and Veteran Families from our Return to Base of Missouri, Inc. Base Camp in Texas County, Missouri. In April 2024, our founder consulted with the board about acquiring fifty-three acres of ground adjacent to 7,000 acres of The Paddy Creek National Forrest near Licking, Missouri and closed on the private purchase of the land on the 17th of May, 2024. The Return to Base of Missouri, Inc. Base Camp is being built and operated on the land at no cost to the organization under a long-term lease. This allows Return to Base of Missouri, Inc. to quickly establish high quality camp housing, equipment, hunting blinds and other recreational opportunities rapidly without the high cost of purchasing the land. The Board of Directors and their Veteran Families have worked hard to ensure that we can host our first Veteran and Veteran Families at the RTBMO Base Camp by September 11th, 2024, just in time for the archery hunting seasons in Missouri. While the RTBMO Base Camp provides Outstanding Experiences in the State of Misouri, the Return to Base of Missouri, Inc. Board has approved providing support for Veterans and Veteran Families to find that Feeling of Home with other Great American Outfitters who offer cost-free Hunting and Outdoor Experiences to Veterans and Veterans Families the RTBMO connects them with. Even while hard at work building Phase I of our RTBMO Base Camp, we were proud to connect and sponsor a Veteran his Veteran Family from Missouri to Gator and Wild Boar Hunt at Okeechobee Outfitters in Lorida, Florida over the 4th of July Holiday in 2024. Effectively beginning our Mission with Mission Accomplishment early!
Thank you for reading our story and we hope you'll support our Mission of Providing Outstanding Outdoor Experiences for Veterans and Veteran Families that Feel Like Home now and for years to come!
